06/16/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Tacoma, WA Ian is a young, 2-way player with a strong lower body. At 1B, Ian has playable footwork and good glove actions. He keeps the ball in front of his body, gains momentum toward his target, and throws with solid arm strength. On the mound, Ian has a low 3/4 arm slot and he keeps his eyes on target. He has some glove side lead and is around the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Ian has a square stance, explosive bat speed, and he makes hard contact. He stands in well balanced, the ball jumps off his bat, and he uses his lower body. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
