01/30/2011 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Imoni showed similar skills at the San Antonio PVP as he has done in previous workouts. In the OF, Imoni has sure hands, quick / fluid feet, and moves athletically to the baseball. He takes good routes and angles to the ball, has a quick and clean exchange, and has fluid throwing mechanics. Imoni has a long / loose arm, with life and accuracy to his target. OF skills can improve if Imoni can field more fluidly through ground balls further out in front of his body. At the plate, Imoni has a short stride, good balance, and direct hands to the baseball. He has average bat speed, keeps his hands inside the ball well, and makes solid contact. A more live bat and better use of his lower 1/2 should help spike offensive tool grades.

06/09/2010 - Under Armour Southeast Regional Tournament - 2010 Cross continues to show steady play in his baseball abilities. Feet and hands work well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with carry on his throws from the OF. Offensively, he made adjustments showing good contact with barrel accuracy. Power numbers will increase as he gets on a solid strength and conditioning program. He was 3 for 12 at the event.

05/16/2010 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Imoni is a 2012 outfielder that has good all around actions and potential for more speed. He showed athletic actions in the outfield. He takes good angles to the baseball and is very fluid in coming through the baseball into his throw. He showed excellent arm action with the potential for more velocity out of the hand. Offensively, he starts with an open approach and comes back to closed. He stays inside the ball well and hits well to the opposite field. His load is direct with little wasted movement. His hands and backside collapse at times as he attacks the baseball from his load or hitting position. This causes the barrel to drag which affects his ability to hit for more pop on the pull side. A more direct path to the ball will help this. He has a strong potential in both the offensive and defensive end, especially as a 2012 grad.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
