01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ira is an athletic and talented 2019 switch hitting 2-way prospect. Behind the dish, he starts in a relaxed primary and presents a low/early glove. When blocking, he leads with his glove, and creates a good angle over the ball. When throwing, he has good arm strength but needs to clean up his actions with his exchange and footwork. From the left side of the plate, Ira starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the launch position, and has fast hands to the ball. From the right side, Ira has loose hands and attacks the inside part of the ball. He stays flat to the ball, has explosive bat speed, and rotates his core throughout the swing. Overall, in game he has a middle approach and shows discipline of breaking balls. On the bump, Ira shows confidence in his pitches and has a north to south delivery. He has tail on his fastball, commands his breaking ball down in the zone, and has feel for the change up. He gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and rides his back leg toward the plate. Ira is a hard worker and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
