06/03/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Florida Irvin is an athletic two way player who shows as a top prospect on the diamond. In the field, Irvin shows efficient footwork and moves well laterally. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, Irvin shows great raw power from the right side. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with explosive bat speed and good extension, driving the ball with authority. On the mound, this righty gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Irvin shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 85mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 68-74mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Irvin is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Irvin is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who showed well at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Irvin shows efficient footwork and makes the routine plays. He makes a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in his load and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a smooth, level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and great gap to gap pop. On the mound, Irvin gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and accelerates through his release, finishing with his chest over his front knee. Irvin shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph with cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 65-68mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 71-73mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Irvin is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

11/03/2019 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Irvin is an athletic and tall 2021 2-way prospect with broad shoulders. Irving choose not to pitch at the workout but continues to improve his skill set on the infield. He fields the ball with two hands and brings the ball into a proper throwing position. He has a low exchange and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Irvin starts in a squared stance, he has a fluid load, and gets to balance before contact. He creates backside drive with his lower half and looks to drive the ball to all fields. Irvin is a hard worker and we hope to see his progress in the future.

06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Irvin showed well out in Omaha at both SS and as an RHP. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
