Exclusive College Recruiting Program Isaac is a 2024 catching prospect out Virginia who has the tools and performance to be an impact player on both sides of the game. Behind the plate he combines mobility and strength in his receiving to work from the one knee down and traditional set ups with a soft hand and strong wrist to handle velocity and off speed pitches with feel for moving borderline pitches into the strike zone. His athleticism shows up in his blocking with quickness and agility. His arm strength 90 MPH plays with online carry and accuracy and consistent low 2.0 to sub 2.0 pop times. At the plate he uses a quiet load with a consistent trigger that allows for his above average bat speed and feel for the barrel to turn into consistent hard contact in the upper 80 MPH range trending towards the 90+ MPH range. Overall the athletic ability, tool set, projection and performance combination with Isaac will present a potential impact college player at a premium defensive position and top to middle part of a lineup.

08/30/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Wilmington, DE Isaac continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities every time we see him. He did show for the first time at 1B. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body during the blocking process centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.30 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/19/2019 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Isaac is a tall C/1B that showed well up in Cape Cod. Behind the plate Isaac sets up in an athletic stance tracking the ball well and receiving with firm hands. On throws to 2B, he replaces his feet exchanging the ball with 2-hands and gets rid of the ball with a clean arm action. His throws to the bag are accurate and strong. Blocking, he works to create good angles and can improve his ability by working on his lateral movement. At the plate, Isaac sets up in a tall stance with loose hands. His load is simple keeping his balance centers and gets his foot down on time. He gets the barrel on plane with fast bat speed and shows a line-drive approach. Getting faster and working on his strength will improve Isaacs game. Isaac shows lots of potential behind the plate as a young catcher.

03/02/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Hitting, Pitching & Catching Combined Weekend (Ages 12-14) Isaac is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. Behind the plate, Isaac sits in an athletic primary stance and tracks the ball into his glove. He gets into an athletic secondary stance and gains ground when throwing. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, getting good backspin through the 2B bag. Isaac centers the ball in the middle of his body and blocks well. Moving sooner to block can help Isaac improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Isaac can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. With five more years to develop, Isaac has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
