Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

07/29/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Samora continues to show as a SS/RHP but currently, projects best at SS for the next level where he has improved his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best to time to date, now an above average runner at 7.25. At SS, feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF and shows big play potential. At the plate, hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with power numbers improving as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, he throws a lot of strikes with his fastball, topping out in the upper 70 range. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Isaac has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

08/04/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Isaac continues to show as a SS/RHP but currently projects best at SS where he has improved his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive grade has improved, now showing tremendous abilities. Feet are active as he attacks balls, play through while presenting hands out front and move well laterally, displaying range. He shows big play potential in the MIF. Throws are accurate with life and on line carry across the diamond as he gets rid of the baseball quickly, displaying outstanding arm strength. At the plate is he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work to and through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with hitting grades improving as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power grades will continue to improve as he works to utilize his lower half more. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 75-79 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will improve as he builds more arm strength and throw more strikes. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

04/06/2014 - National Tryout - Albuquerque, NM Issac continues to progress on the diamond. He moves well laterally with smooth actions and puts his athleticism on display. He makes the backhand play look easy as he plays through it and works in-line toward 1B. With the bat, Samora shows good balance as he gets back into a loaded position. He connects and squares the ball up, driving it on a line. On the mound, he has a repeatable delivery and throws strikes with all 3 pitches. He is sound mechanically and finishes out over his front side. Only a 2016 grad - Issac will find success on the diamond over the next couple of years.

12/27/2013 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Isaac is a hardworking SS with plus makeup as he is a great team player and is very coachable. He utilizes his feet well in his lateral movement, displaying range and attacks balls with his feet, playing through well. Hands are soft / clean but needs to present more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by getting rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he shows a balanced setup with rhythm. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more.

06/27/2013 - California Select Training & Competition Issac is a young SS that has an athletic/projectable middle infielder build. Defensively, he is sure handed and fluid with his footwork. He has great actions and is smooth to the right and left. Offensively, he has a short/compact swing that generates flashes of fast bat speed. He has good rhythm, stays inside the ball and uses the entire field. We see Issac as being a definite guy in the middle of the infield at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
