01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Wersland stands a projectable 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds with room to fill out. He is an interesting athlete, with 7.03 speed in the 60 yard dash and very strong hands and forearms -- as evidenced by his standout grip strength of 176.1 psi. He used his strength and ability to create speed to impact the ball for 92 mph exit velocity, and featured a stroke that allowed the speed on exit to translate into long carries with a wood bat. He put the barrel on the ball in game at bats as well, offering glimpses of a hit / power combo at a premium position. Behind the plate, he showed well-rounded ability and athleticism both in workout and game situations. He showed lateral quickness to block and to move his feet to throw, and posted release times around 2.00 in live game action. Overall, an interesting player that offers offensive ability and athleticism at a position that rarely sees that combo.
