Official Scouting Report

  • OFPosition Projection

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jackson is a very talented athlete who continues to shine. In the OF, he takes a quick first step getting good jumps to track down fly-balls. He secures the ball with 2-hands, maintains athletic actions and has a clean exchange to throw. Offensively, this lefty stands in well with centered balance and a strong base. Hands are quick whipping the barrel to and through the zone with speed. He connects with pop and drives the ball with pop to his pull-side. Isaiah has a ton of upside and will be fun to watch.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Isaiah is an athletic two way player that plays OF and also pitches. In the OF Isaiah has a quick first step, takes proper routes to the ball, and is aggressive with good body control. He can cover a lot of ground in the outfield with his speed and should only get better with age. At the plate he has an open stance, good load, strong balance, and quick hands. He has great bat speed for his age and he drives the ball to all fields with power. On the mound this lefty has a good presence, uses his lower half well, and gets good extension. His fastball has good arm side run with late sink and he hides the ball well making him a tough look for hitters. If Isaiah adds some secondary pitches he will be a very talented two way player at the next level with a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
