08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Isiah continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean and presents well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls but will benefit by playing through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and works inside the baseball, utilizing all fields. He stays on plane through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Fastball showed a range of 72-78 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Isaiah is a hardworking 3B/RHP prospect who graduates in 2018. In the field, Isaiah is a high energy defender who is ready every play and presents his glove. He moves well laterally and covers good ground. He has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot. Isaiah plays with momentum through the baseball producing online, strong throws across the diamond. Offensively, Isaiah has a tall stance with a centered balance. He has a solid load with a short stride. Isaiah has an aggressive approach and battles with two strikes. He is a contact type hitter who has potential. On the mound, Isaiah has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action. He extends through his release and stays square with the proper stride length. He effectively rotates his core and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Isaiah has a full arsenal featuring a fastball, curveball, and change-up. Overall, Isaiah is a coachable prospect with an upbeat personality and bright future on the diamond.

11/20/2016 - College PREP - Pearland, TX Isaiah is a lean 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2018. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he squares balls up with his body. Glove action is soft / sure but will benefit by presenting more out front. Athletic abilities are shown off on his feeds of the double play. He shows a solid backhand with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, FB ranges from 72-73 mph. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with gradual break with depth. Arm speed is maintained on changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. With 2 years to further develop, Isaiah has abilities with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
