06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Iyke is a tall, solid 1B/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, he makes the routine plays, displaying clean hands and shows proper footwork around the bag. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he attacks balls more, plays through while presenting hands more out front, and improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-74 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and develops best off speed stuff. Mental makeup is a plus as he is great team player and carries himself in a positive manner with high energy. With 3 years to further develop, Iyke has potential with time and room to progress his game.
