02/20/2021 - Mid-Atlantic Combined Skills Training - Columbia, MD J. Cole is an athletic LHP/OF prospect who worked hard during the Mid-Atlantic Skills Weekend. On the mound, J. Cole shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 48-50mph with 3-9 break. Changeup sits from 53-54mph with cutting action. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help J.Cole be more controlled throughout his delivery. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to strong line drives. J. Cole can create more consistent contact by keeping his eyes on the ball throughout his swing. Overall, J.Cole is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/13/2021 - All-In Membership - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA J. Cole McKeon is a 2022 OF/LHP. Athletic frame with room to fill out. A primary outfielder, takes good angles with a consistent approach and transfer, accurate arm that plays well in the OF. A left-handed hitter, balanced approach and natural lift with very good power potential. A secondary pitcher, a long and loose arm action and good extension at release. 3/4 slot with a good three pitch mix and upside as he develops and adds repetitions. 2/8 shaped breaking ball with good feel to land the pitch for strikes. Excellent two way potential and should tap into the tools soon to get him to the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
