Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18)
JT is a lean, athletic RHP/OF who will graduate in 2019. In the OF, he displays smooth clean actions. He utilizes his athletic feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Defensive abilities will increase as he improves foot quickness and works to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is great team player and carries himself in a positive manner with high energy. He is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

JT continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his feet in taking proper routes / angles in working to get behind balls. He shows good game awareness and does a nice job of backing up bases. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard to fastball velocities. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.
