09/29/2019 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC JT is an athletic C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, JT moves quickly and covers up well when blocking. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws consistently on-line to the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, JT is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) JT continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.20. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player, coachable, and plays the game hard.

01/27/2019 - College PREP - Myrtle Beach, SC J.T. is a talented catching prospect who has a strong, proejctable build. Offensively, J.T. has a square, athletic setup with a firm front side and centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a smooth load and short, square stride. J.T. shows fast bat speed with a short, direct swing path. He consistently lands the barrel to the baseball producing hard contact. J.T. has the ability to use all fields and can drive the ball to each gap with power. Behind the plate, J.T. has an effective setup and he plays the position athletically. He has quiet actions and tracks the ball well. J.T. presents a low target and he receives the ball with a firm glove. He has a clean, quick exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. J.T has a quick release showing accurate, strong throws to 2B. He moves well laterally as he does a nice job blocking the baseball. Overall, J.T. is an above average prospect who can impact the game on both sides of the ball.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
