01/05/2020 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Jace is a tall, lean RHP who will graduate in 2020. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 78 mph. Breaking ball sits from 66-68 mph with 10/4 gradual break. Changeup sits from 70-71 mph with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. Hand are quick and work through a level swing path. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to work on time. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Jace has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
