07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Jace is a coachable C/RHP prospect who hustled all over the field during his time at the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Jace shows efficient footwork and covers up well when blocking balls in the dirt. He receives the ball with a firm glove and works to make accurate throws to 2B. Jace can improve as a C by sitting in a lower stance. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and hits from a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed which leads to gap to gap pop. Jace can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, Jace keeps his eyes on target and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and extends through on his release. Jace shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-62mph with 12-6 break. Jace can improve as a pitcher by gathering to a balance point over the rubber. With five more years to develop, Jace has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.
