09/02/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Albany, NY Jacek is an athletic C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Jacek shows fluid footwork and covers up well when blocking. He presents a good target to the pitcher and makes a clean exchange to throw, getting good carry through 2B. Jacek can improve as a C by setting up square to the pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He shows a smooth rhythm and maintains center balance. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and line drives. Jacek can improve as a hitter by getting into his load more. Overall, Jacek is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

06/25/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Albany, NY Jacek continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.13 as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process but will benefit by working to get his body down sooner. In the MIF, feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls well with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. Defensive abilities will continue to improve as he quickens his feeds / turns of the double play. At the plate, he shows a squared setup with balance. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a level swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
