12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jack continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. He did show in the OF for the first time at the event. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball showed a range of 78-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 3 for 7 with a 3B. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker. He has a great attitude and wants to get better.
