Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Jack continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. Fastball showed good arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches.

08/10/2020 - All-In Membership - Sugar Land (Houston), TX Jackson is a talented/projectable (6'5"/210) RHP who pounds the zone with strikes. He works tall, has smooth separation and drives downhill, in-line toward the dish. FB ranges from 81-82 mph as he works to keep it down in the zone. Curveball has 12/6 shape with tight spin - 68-69 mph. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed as it has good sinking action - 70-71 mph. He works the ball in and out and can hit his spots. As a hitter, Jackson shows a tall setup with rhythm to load. He whips the barrel through the zone quickly with + bat speed with the ball exploding off of his barrel (exit velocity = 91 mph). Bell is a solid RHP prospect who will toe the rubber and compete.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
