01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Jack is an athletic and talented 2-way prospect. Behind the plate, Jack is a hard worker and showed good leadership skills working with his pitching staff. He starts in a quiet primary stance, presents a low target, and has soft hands. When blocking, he tries to get his chest behind the ball. He needs to continue to anticipate the ball in the dirt and lead with his glove. When throwing, Jack has a two handed exchange and replaces his feet. At the plate, Jack starts in a closed stance, has a simple load, and gets his front foot down on-time. He makes consistent contact and looks to hit the ball to the pull side. On the bump, Jack gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a loose arm action. He works fast and looks to challenge hitters with his fastball in. Jack will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
