01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament At 6'4” and 215 pounds, Conlon is an imposing figure on the mound and he backs it up with quality stuff. In his brief two-inning stint in Arizona he showed the quick, clean arm stroke that we've seen in the past as well as the aggressiveness with his fastball that you like to see in young arms. He held the opposing team hitless strictly using his fastball and hard breaking ball that had good downer action. We've seen a change in the past, but it wasn't needed at this event. Jack's frame, delivery and arm speed have the look of a RHP who will throw very hard in the future. We look forward to watching another outing in July at Wrigley Field in the Under Armour All-America Game.

11/07/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Jack is a big time prospect on the mound who continues to improve each time we see him. He has a big, physical frame and is an imposing presence on the mound. He is aggressive with his low 90s fastball and attacks hitters with good downhill plane and heavy life. He really competes on the mound and likes to pitch inside to both RH and LH hitters. He complements his plus FB with a hard breaking ball that has 2-plane break and a change that he has a very good feel for. Overall, this is the makings of a complete arm that can compete at high levels.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jack is a talented R/R 1B who has a projectable/solid build (6'3"/210). At 1B, he shows active footwork and moves well to keep the GB in front. He moves well around the bag and is a big target for his fellow INF's to throw to. With the bat, this RHH displays a tall setup with good balance. Swing path is level to and through the zone as he shows pop off of his barrel, driving the ball to the gaps. Conlon also got on the mound where his electric arm lit up the radar gun. FB jumps out of his hand (87 mph) and onto hitters quickly while showing sink & tail. He challenges hitters, throws strikes and competes. Only a 2017 grad - Jack has a ton of upside and is one to keep an eye on.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
