10/24/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Atlanta, GA Jack continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he continues to increase foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now solid through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Jack is a hard working 2-way prospect that was eager to learn. At 2B, Jack has good arm strength for the position and makes accurate throws. He has good feeds on double plays and good footwork off the bag on double plays. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step, presents a low/early glove, and field the ball in front of his body. Playing through the ball will help him to stay down when he fields it. Improving his first step quickness will also improve his range. At the plate, Jack starts in an open stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and rotates his backside. He attacks the inside part of the ball and he looks to drive the ball to all fields. On the bump, Jack gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a clean arm action. He gets ahead early with his fastball and gets run on his changeup. He needs to continue to get his fingers on top of his breaking ball and continue to ride his back leg down hill in his delivery. Jack will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/27/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Jack is an athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and RHP. Defensively, Jack has quick feet, soft hands, and he fields athletically in a square position. He fields aggressively, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy from a quick release to his target. On the mound, Jack has eyes on target, he gets good extension toward the plate, and he lands squarely. He has a FB that touches 66 MPH, and he mixes in his off-speed well. At the plate, Jack has an open stance, a rhythmic swing, and fast bat speed. He is a strong/aggressive hitter who makes hard contact to the pull side. Solid overall skills can get even better with work on the following.

2. Exchange

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
