Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

11/17/2019 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Jack is an athletic 2-way player. At SS, Jack has fluid/active feet, soft hands, and he fields athletically. He has good range, fields cleanly, and throws with momentum and carry across the diamond. Continuing to improve footwork and added arm strength will help defense get even better. On the mound, Jack has good balance and a repeatable delivery. He has a clean arm circle, separates his hands on time, and he has a complete finish toward home plate. More lower body and continued work on off-speed will help mound effectiveness get better. At the plate, Jack has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and he loads his hands well. He swings aggressively, has fast bat speed, and taps into his lower body.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
