01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Jack is a class of 2023 Outfield prospect. In the field, he shows good athletic feet as well as taking good first steps. He fields from an athletic position with his hands out front. Does a good job on exchanges and creates momentum to throw. Does an excellent job of working behind and through the baseball. At the plate, he starts in a tall open stance. Does a good job of getting his hands activated in the swing. Shows very good rhythm and timing. Creates consistent contact to all parts of the field. Jack is a bright young prospect that we expect to see more good things from in the future

09/22/2021 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Jack continues to showcase his baseball tools at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.02 runner. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through, creating momentum to his target. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws (87 60 time) on a line through his target but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power (89 mph exit velocity) driving to all parts of the field. On the mound, he shows a controlled, repeatable delivery allowing his quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. Fastball showed a range of 78-83 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. He shows a great feel for pitching and maintains composure on the bump. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

Foot speed is well above average as indicated by 60 time of 7.13. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally and covers ground in the MIF. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying solid hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
