10/12/2014 - College PREP - Glen Burnie, MD
Jack has molded himself into an elite prospect behind the dish. He sits in well with athletic/simple actions and flexion. Exchange is quick/fluid as he gains ground, putting throws on the bag at 2.01. With the bat, Jack displays smooth rhythm working back into a strong loaded position. Barrel delivery is explosive as this lefty whips the bat to and through the zone. He squares the ball up and drives it to the gaps. A (6'0"/185) LHH catcher who plus all-around tools is a hot commodity on the diamond.

We have been working with Jack for over a year now, as he has taken lessons at our facility and we have evaluated him a couple of times in one day workouts. Overall, Jack is a young catcher and repeatedly has shown us solid skills. Defensively, Jack looks the ball into his glove, he receives well, and he keeps the ball in front when blocking. He shows proper mechanics, and he is a good communicator behind the plate, while also showing good throwing accuracy to his target. Added strength and arm strength will help catching abilities improve. Offensively, Jack has an open stance, good rhythm, and he gets his foot down quick. He makes solid contact and has some pop in his bat. A more level swing and better use of his lower 1/2 will spike offensive numbers. He has shown us a lot of progression with his bat over the last year and is a well above average hitter for his age. With his work ethic and natural ability, he is going to progress into a very good player once he physically matures and fills out.
