06/08/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Jack is a strong, athletic OF who has a tremendous future on the diamond. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way (6.94 60 time). He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. Throws are accurate with on line zip (89 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving (89 mph exit velocity) to all parts of the field. Jack has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the college coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jack is a lean and athletic 2020 Grad. Stays ready in the Outfield, takes a very good first step, works behind and through the baseball to deliver strong accurate throws. High potential with his arm. Fields ground balls well and cuts off extra bases with good angles to the corners/gaps. At the plate, Jack is very controlled throughout the entire swing process. Loads well with rhythm and generates a direct swing with good bat speed and plate coverage. Consistently finds the barrel and can drive the ball to all fields, should make for a nice approach at the next level.

07/17/2018 - College PREP - Highland Park (DFW), TX Jack is a tall, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.07. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with tremendous power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry and zip (86 mph velocity) to his target. With 2 years to further develop, Jack has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
