08/05/2019 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Jack continues to shine on the diamond with his baseball abilities. At 3B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 3B and 2 RBI. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

03/24/2019 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Jack is a 3B/C prospect who will graduate in 2021. At 3B, Jack makes the routine plays and fields with soft hands. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Jack improve as a 3B. Behind the plate, Jack tracks the ball into his glove and works to make accurate throws to the 2B bag. Jack can improve as a C by receiving with softer hands. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and shows a fluid rhythm. He takes aggressive hacks and makes consistent contact. Taking a square stride towards the pitcher can help Jack improve as a hitter. With two more years to develop, Jack has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
