11/11/2023 - National Showcase - Palmyra (Harrisburg), PA Jack is a 2028 SS/RHP prospect with an athletic, lean frame. At short, he has good, active footwork and moves fluidly to the baseball. He gets in an athletic fielding position and shows off soft hands, doing a nice job of funneling the baseball. He has clean arm actions and makes consistent throws to his targets. At the plate, he starts in an athletic, squared stance and has an on-time stride with a good load back. He has fluid rhythm and timing and does a good job of keeping his balance centered through contact. He has a lot of intent with his swing and actions and his lower half works through the baseball. His bat speed impresses and he has a great on-plane swing path to the ball. He gets good extension on the backside and finishes his swing, making hard consistent contact. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 slot and works the strike zone. He gathers his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation with a good frontside. His arm action is clean and he extends through his release point. He has a repeatable delivery and shows a lot of upside at the position. He has great feel for both his 4-seam and 2-seam FB and he gets good tilt with his CB. Overall, Jack is an exciting prospect that should continue to impress!

07/20/2023 - National Showcase - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Jack continues show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a crouched setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 58-61 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/03/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex Jack is a SS/RHP in the 2028 class. In the field, he shows excellent focus and athletic actions. His feet work well and he positions himself to field in a squared base. His glove is firm and has pocket awareness. He gathers himself well and display plus range. On the mound, he displays poise and can be aggressive in attacking hitters. He uses a 4 and 2 seem FB that generally sits 55-7 and is located well. His CH sat 46-51 with deception. At the plate, he has a solid set-up. Positions himself to get into his load and proves to be a contact type hitter. As he matures and with his projectability, he can blossom into a gap to gap hitter. Overall, scouts feel he is just scratching the surface of becoming an exceptional player.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
