12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jack is an energetic and athletic OF prospect that will graduate in 2021. In the OF, Jack shows a relaxed ready position with smooth footwork getting a +1st step to the ball. He fields the ball with a relaxed glove and creates good direction towards the infield. His exchanges are clean as he gets rid of the ball with a loose arm action delivering accurate throws. At the plate, Jack sets up in a tall and open stance with comfortable hands. His stride is square as he rotates against a firm front side and extends through contact with fast bat speed. He can hit to all fields but shows the most pop to the pull side. Jack shows good upside with room to develop. He has a good feel for the game with time to develop his athleticism. We look forward to seeing his progress as he has a bright future ahead of himself.

09/01/2019 - College PREP - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Jack showed solid overall improvements and an increase in radar velocity as well as exit velocity during his last workout. In the OF, Jack has solid actions, active footwork, and he fields low and athletically. He works behind fly balls well, plays through ground balls properly, and throws with momentum and accuracy from a quick release to his cut off man. Added arm strength will continue to help defense improve. Offensively, Jack has a square/athletic set-up, good balance, and he loads his hands well. He makes consistent contact gap to gap, and taps into his lower body. Added strength and bat speed will help LHH numbers rise. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Jack.

09/27/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Bowie, MD Jack is a young, 2-way player (OF/1B) who can swing it. Offensively, this lefty has a balanced setup with patience waiting for his pitch. Quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone. He squares the ball up and drives it with pop. In the OF, Jack has active footwork and hustles to track down fly-balls to his right and left. He secures the ball with 2-hands and works to play through it toward his target. At 1B, Jack gets into a square fielding position behind the GB. He makes the plays with sure hands and has active footwork moving well around the 1B bag. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Offense
1. More direct swing path
2. More lower 1/2 drive
3. Contact points
Outfield
1. Routes/angles
2. Arm strength (long toss)
4. Transfer/exchange
Infield
1. Footwork/agility
2. Glove presentation

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
