06/07/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bowie, MD Jack is a 3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 3B, Jack shows efficient footwork and gets into an athletic position. He fields the ball out in front with soft hands and makes a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Increasing his lateral range can help Jack improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes consistent contact to his pull side. Jack can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter swing to the ball. Overall, Jack is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Jack is a talented 3B that showed exceptional abilities on both sides of the ball. At 3B, Jack shows an athletic ready position with agile range to the glove and hand side. He fields the ball athletic and low with his glove out in front of his body. His exchanges are clean as he fields to throw and works hard to get rid of the ball with accuracy. At the plate he has a square and athletic set up with comfortable hands as he starts his load. He works hard to get his foot down on time and get the barrel on plane. He uses a gap to gap approach that showed in game with a triple and two doubles. Jack shows a good IQ for the game and confidence on field, we are excited to see his progress.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Baltimore, MD Jack continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.40 runner. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and carry on his throws across the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (87 mph) and work through an aggressive swing path. He uses his lower half and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop.

10/19/2018 - College Recruiting Day - Columbia, MD Jack is an athletic 3B prospect who will graduate in 2021. In the field, Jack shows active footwork and takes a good first step. He gets into an athletic position and fields with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. Quickening his exchange to throw can help Jack improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting into his load and takes a level swing to the ball, leading to solid contact. Jack can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half through more. Overall, Jack is a solid prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
