07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Jack continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

03/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Jack is an athletic, 2-way player who plays 2nd base and OF. In the INF, Jack is aggressive to the ball, footwork is efficient, and he fields low in a square position. He takes good angles to the ball, hands are soft, and he throws with consistency and momentum toward his target. In the OF, Jack has active feet, he gets in a good ready position, and he fields athletically. He gets rid of the ball quickly with carry, and is accurate to his target. At the plate, Jack has an open/athletic set-up, good balance, and he loads well. He keeps a still head, flashes fast bat speed, and makes consistent contact, gap to gap. Solid overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Fielding out front
2. Backhand
Outfield
1. Avoid drifting
2. Release
Offense
1. Finish
2. Front side

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
