08/09/2010 - Team One Northeast 2010 - Scouting Report Jack showed similar skills at Team One Northeast as he did at Team One West. He is a strong, 3rd baseman with good abilities. He presents his glove well, has soft / playable hands, and he moves well for his size. He fields the ball out in front of his body, he follows his throws, and delivers the ball accurately with some carry to his target. If Jack can work in a lower position and work from the ground up, solid defensive grades can further improve. Offensively, Jack has quick / strong hands and plus physical strength. He has good bat speed, pull side pop, and he can hit the ball over the wall. Jack will be a nice College ball player.

07/17/2010 - Team One West 2010 - Scouting Report Jack is a strong, thick, 3rd baseman that will graduate in 2011. Defensively, Jack is athletic for his size, moves well, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He fields the ball cleanly, turns a nice double play, and he throws accurately to his target. Jack can improve defensively if he can improve his range, stay in a low position, and not stand up to throw. At the plate, Jack has a quiet / simple approach, and good bat speed. He is a strong hitter who is direct to the ball and he can work it up the middle of the field. The ball jumps of the barrel of Jack's bat, and if he can tap into more lower 1/2, solid offensive numbers can spike even higher.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
