06/08/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Jack is an athletic LHH MIF that shows as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. Defensively, he takes a quick first step and has plus lateral range. He creates angles around the GB with fluid actions. DP turns are quick with zip on his throws. Defensive abilities are at near a pro level as he shows big play potential. Jack has a ton of upside and possesses the skill set that will play at a very high level.

11/03/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Jack is a talented young SS prospect with an extremely high ceiling. He showed well all-around at the UA Baseball Factory Futures Texas event, but his left-handed swing garnered the most attention. His stroke is clean and natural resulting in easy, consistent barrel contact. There is balance and rhythm to his approach and swing with a repeatable move to, and through, contact. He has good knowledge of the strike zone and uses the whole field well - signs of a mature hitter. As a defender, Jack has sure, soft hands and natural IF actions. He ranges laterally better than his 60 time may indicate and he has a strong, accurate arm (90 mph raw arm strength) across the diamond. There is a lot to like here, and Jack is a player on the rise who should be followed closely.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
