09/27/2023 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2024) Jack is a tall and strong (6ft 1/205) RHP in the 2024 class. Jack is a strike thrower who displays composure and likes to be aggressive by attacking the zone early in the count. Shows great balance for his size and he creates movement with the baseball. Working out of the stretch, his FB sat 85-6 with arm side run. His CB shaped 10-4 and also can look like a SL at times. CH is dangerous at 79 and shows excellent run. Had a tremendous showing in two appearances (9 K’s/3 hits/1 run). Overall, Jack is a next level arm and will be a key contributor at the next level.

05/07/2023 - National Showcase - Clinton, IA Jack is a 2024 RHP/1B prospect with a strong frame at 6'1" 205 pounds. At first, he does a good job of getting a good prep step to get in a ready position. He centers ground balls and gets in a good squared fielding position, presenting his hands out in front. His exchange is clean and his arm is easy, making consistent throws with momentum to his targets. His double play feeds are impressive and he shows off great effort at the position. At the plate, he starts in a tall, open stance and gets a short stride to the pitcher with an easy back load. He shows off impressive balance and a smooth rhythm while letting his lower half lead. His swing path is direct to the baseball and his bat speed is fast, with a max exit velo of 89 MPH. He really tracks the ball well and uses all parts of the field. On the mound, he does well to gather his balance over the rubber and gets on-time separation. He has a repeatable motion and solid front side, doing well to work downhill. He keeps his eyes on his target throughout his delivery. His FB reached a max velo of 85 MPH and featured some good tail. He showed off impressive arm speed on both off speed offerings, working both his CB and CH to the bottom of the zone. Jack is an exciting prospect with a big arm that will continue to develop and should play at the next level!

09/21/2022 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic (2024) Jack continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities and did so at the Arizona Junior Fall Classic. On the mound, delivery is sound/repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his ¾ arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 85 mph. Fastball shows good tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

06/16/2022 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (HS) Jack is a coachable 2024 RHP/1B prospect out of Marion, IA who showed well during the Omaha National World Series. On the mound, Jack gathers over the rubber and works inline toward the plate. He accelerates through his release and finishes square to his target. Jack operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 69-73mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 72-74mph. During the event he went a total of 5 innings and struck out 8. In the field, Jack shows good range and gets into a square position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a soft stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, producing strong line drives. Overall, Jack is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

02/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Monticello, IA Jack is a RHP/1B prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame thick build and strength present. At 1B, he shows ability to cover ground in all directions and closes distance on batted balls. Takes good 1st steps to the baseball while creating good fielding angles and showed a good glove angle. Made accurate throws from a low 3/4 arm slot, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 83mph. Holds line on slow rollers. On the mound, he has a clean leg lift, with a good rear hip coil, and separates his hands on-time. He showed a simple/repeatable delivery and works with good tempo. Throws a FB that sits 80-82mph with plus command, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with medium break, and a changeup with sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he hits from an upright and square stance. He hits into a firm frontside and has natural juice in swing. He gets extended through the baseball and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 86mph. With another 2 years of growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

10/06/2021 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Jack is a 2024 RHP/C who is coachable and a team player. Defensively, Jack worked hard behind the dish all event. His arm worked well and had carry through second base with a best pop time of 2.23. Offensively, he displayed pull side pop by getting on plane and creating extension through the baseball. On the mound, Jack exhibited competitiveness with the ability to throw a FB which had late run movement. His BB had a 10-4 shape with decent break. Overall, Jack is a hard working prospect whose game will continue to improve with time.

06/06/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Clinton, IA Jack is a class of 2024 RHP/C prospect. He shows off a good frame for the position. Behind the plate, he showed flexibility and the ability to stay athletic. He showed good footwork on throw downs and a short arm action. Pop times were as low as 2.15. He did a good job receiving and working his thumb underneath. At the plate, he showed a good approach and was willing to use the whole field. Stayed balanced throughout his swing. Did a good job getting extension through the baseball. On the mound, he does a good job of focusing on his target. Shows the ability to throw a FB, CB, and CH. Fastball topped at 78. Best pitch was CB, was 62-65 MPH and showed 10-4 shaped break. Jack is an exciting prospect that we hope to see again in the future.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jack is a C/RHP prospect who showed well during the Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament. Behind the plate, Jack is agile moving to block and keeps dirt balls in front of him. He sits in a low stance and receives with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he makes accurate throws through the 2B bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth to load and drives through well with his lower half. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and great gap to gap power. On the mound, Jack gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Jack shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with tailing action. Changeup sits from 70-72mph with tailing action. Overall, Jack is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he continues to progress.

10/14/2020 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Jack is a coachable C/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Arizona Fall Classic. Behind the plate, Jack sits in a low stance and receives with soft hands. He has a smooth exchange and throws from a 3/4 angle, keeping his throws accurate to the 2B bag. Covering up more when blocking can help Jack keep more dirt balls in front of him. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with his hands held high. He is smooth to load and takes a level swing, producing consistent contact and line drives. Jack can barrel up more baseballs by taking a square stride toward the pitcher. On the mound, Jack gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Jack shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 80mph. Breaking ball sits from 70-71mph with 10-4 break. Extending through his release more can help Jack improve his pitch command and velocity. With four more years to develop, Jack has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/04/2020 - MS All-Region Tournament Jack is a C/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the All-Region Tournament. Behind the plate, Jack sits in a low stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He receives with soft hands and has a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to the 2B bag. Working on his blocking footwork can help Jack keep more dirt balls in front of him. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and works to barrel up the baseball, producing consistent contact to the opposite field. Jack can barrel up more baseballs by working on a more level swing path. On the mound, Jack gathers over the rubber and drives his lower half well, attacking the zone aggressively. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph with late life. Breaking ball sits from 63-65mph with 10-4 break. Loosening his arm action can help Jack improve his pitch command and velocity. With four more years to develop, Jack has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

02/09/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Monticello, IA Jack increased arm strength to 76 MPH during his last workout with The Factory. Behind the plate, Jack has a presentable glove, he sits in squarely, and he moves with good flexibility. He deadens the ball softly, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a short/consistent arm to 2nd base. Pop times also improved to 2.22 seconds. On the mound, Jack has good size, he keeps his eyes on target, and works well to his balance point. He has a clean arm circle, on time separation, and he competes well in the zone. Offensively, Jack has an open stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He is a strong hitter, he can spray to all fields, and he uses his lower body well.

12/01/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Jack is a young, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Jack has good flexibility, efficient footwork, and a presentable glove. He centers well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and a short arm to 2nd base. On the mound, Jack has good balance, a loose arm action, and he separates his hands on time. He gets good extension through, lands with solid direction, and finishes completely. Offensively, Jack has an open/athletic stance, a short stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He has good balance, fast bat speed, and a direct barrel through. Solid overall skills can get better with work on the following.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Jack is a tall C/RHP that showed the ability to make adjustments. Behind the plate Jack presents a good glove. He makes exchanges with 2-hands and gets rid of the ball quickly to 2B. He has a quick arm action and puts the pall consistently on the 1B side of the bag. A long toss program can help improve Jacks arm strength. Jack sets up slightly open at the plate. He gets his lower half through working hard to get the barrel on plane and showed a gap-to-gap approach at the plate. Creating more rhythm at the plate and incorporating the legs more can help Jack become a more powerful hitter. On the mound, Jack worked only out of the stretch with on-time separation with a clean arm action. His stride stays in line with the plate with good length. Jack has several years to develop, and we look forward to seeing his progress.

02/10/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Monticello, IA Jack is a young, solid, 2-way player who catches and pitches. On the mound, Jack has a repeatable delivery, a clean arm circle, and he lands with good direction toward home plate. He separates on time, gets good extension through, and competes in the zone. Behind the plate, Jack has quiet actions, he tracks well, and has a soft chest blocking. He presents his glove well, has a clena exchange, and throws with pop times as low as 2.64 seconds to 2nd base. Offensively, Jack has a square set-up, he loads well, and stands in well balanced. He has a direct swing path, makes square contact, and can spray to all fields. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
