Official Scouting Report

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Jack is a physically well built and strong catching prospect in the 2024 class. He stands out on the defensive side were his receiving, blocking and throwing all grade as above average tools for the college level. He shows raw arm strength at 87-90 MPH and records pop times as low as 1.94 and consistently will be in the 1.99-2.05 range with his throws as a 2024 grade. His physical frame is mobile and allows him to present a strong target for pitchers while his hands are soft with a good feel for receiving and strong wrists to handle velocity and present borderline pitches within the zone. Offensively, he has strength in his swing with his current exit velocity being in the 84-88 mph range with the ability to use the middle of the diamond for current doubles power with room to add strength to his frame it should play as HR power at the next level. A good feel for the barrel and performance in game allowing him to profile a catch and throw receiver with offensive potential at the next level.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Jack continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt, tracks the ball well and sticks pitches in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.94 with carry on his throws. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 2 years to further develop, Jack has a lot of potential and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

11/14/2021 - All-In Membership - Pittsburgh, PA Jack is a strong/solid 2-way player with a good overall skill set. Behind the plate, Jack has fluid/active feet, he sits in well, and fields in rhythm. He blocks and receives well, takes good angles, and throws with accuracy and strength to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 2.0 seconds. At 3B, Jack moves well laterally, his hands and feet work well, and he makes plays. He fields smoothly, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a strong/accurate arm across the diamond. Not standing up vertically to throw can help abilities at 3B get even better. Offensively, Jack has an athletic stance, he loads well, and he swings aggressively. He is a strong hitter with fast bat speed, and he makes hard contact gap to gap. Jack is a nice prospect and one to keep your eye on.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
