12/18/2022 - All-In Membership - Thousand Oaks, CA Jack continues to show as a top prospect with his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his excellent foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (91 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 2 years to further develop, Jack has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Jack is a top end athlete who combines athleticism (6.65 60 runner with burst), performance, and projection into a top prospect. Jack stands out on both sides of the game making it difficult to decide which area he provides more impact and has the potential to be a plus defensive CF and top of the order bat at the college level. Offensively, he has a balanced set up and approach that allows him to get into a consistent position to make hard contact. His swing path gets on plane early and his body control allows him to stay in the contact zone for a long period of time with outstanding bat speed that produces consistent upper 80s exit velocity and has peaked at 95 mph. But, his defense may be even more impressive than his outstanding offensive profile where he combines a quick first step, efficient routes to the ball and top end body control (a product of playing WR and special teams in FB) to cover large amounts of space with the ability to leave his feet to take away hits. His arm is plus with 92 mph arm strength and room to add more. The total package of tools with performance and ability to project for further improvement makes Jack a top prospect for the 2024 class.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
