07/29/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Jackson continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean as he presents on time and out front. He shows off his athletic ability on his turns / feeds of the double play. Increasing foot quickness will aid in improving range. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

11/12/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Jackson is a young player who continues to show good body control for his age. Defensively, he displayed a solid ready position, efficient routes to the ball and good range to his glove side. Jackson can continue to focus on reaching a lower fielding position while staying away from patting his glove on approach. Offensively, he showed a compact swing with good pitch recognition and patient approach. Grades will continue to improve as he works on more of a fluid load with his hands. Jackson is a great kid who shows a promising future at the next level.

10/04/2015 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Jackson is an athletic 2-way player as a SS/OF. Defensively at SS, he has active footwork and hustles into a square fielding position. He fields the GB out in front with soft hands and plays through well, working in-line toward his target at 1B. In the OF, Jackson is aggressive with solid routes/angles to track dow fly-balls. He secures the ball with 2-hands and makes accurate throws into his target. Offensively, this righty has a balanced setup with patience. Swing is compact through a level path as he connects and works to engage his lower 1/2. He squares the ball up and drives the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Lateral quickness
3. Accuracy on throws
Outfield
1. Routes
2. Fist step quickness
Offense
1. Swing path
2. Contact points

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
