  • C/RHPPosition Projection

01/22/2023 - National Showcase - Dallas, TX Jackson is a C/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Tall frame lean build with strength present. At C, he has quick feet and presents a low target. Good lateral movement, with good blocking angles, and centers the baseball. Works thumb under, with a clean exchange, into a high 3/4 release point with accurate/on-line throws to second base. Arm velocity was up to 80mph and his best pop time was 2.19 seconds. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He works exclusively from the stretch and throws with intent. Keeps eyes on target throughout delivery and throws all of his pitches from the same window. Throws a FB that sits 76-77mph with good command, a 10/4 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. A right-handed hitter, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Relaxed setup, with smooth rhythm, and ability to control the barrel. Direct barrel path as he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. With 3 1/2 years of continued growth and development, we see Jackson having opportunities to play at the next level.

11/18/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Fall Prospects Tournament (HS) Jackson is a 2026 C who showcased his skills during the Fall Prospects Tournament. Behind the plate, showed athletic actions, with quiet actions, and presents a good target. Showed a quick arm stroke, with good life on ball, and recorded an arm velocity up to 80mph and a best pop time of 2.51 seconds. He centers balls on his blocks and tucks his chin. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and relaxed stance. Shows a level bat path and rotates his lower half to contact point. He hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 69mph. During the tournament, he reached base multiple times with a double, a single, and a walk. With 4 years of growth and development, we foresee Jackson making huge strides on the baseball field.

10/19/2019 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Jackson is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. Behind the plate, Jackson sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He moves on time to block and covers up well. Receiving with a stronger glove can help Jackson improve defensively. With seven more years to develop, Jackson has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/29/2019 - Interactive Video Program - York, PA Jackson is a young, thin, 2-way player who catches and plays SS. Behind the plate, Jackson tracks well, sits in athletically, and stays down when blocking. He has a presentable glove, a clean exchange, and he throws with consistency to 2nd base. Pop times were as low as 3.31 seconds. At SS, Jackson has good pre-pitch actions, he fields athletically in a square position, and he throws with a short arm action across the diamond. At the plate, Jackson has an athletic stance, good balance, and he swings aggressively. He tracks well, swings on plane, and he taps into his lower body. Overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Raise arm slot
2. Secondary stance
3. Footwork
Infield
1. Release
2. Hands
3. Footwork
Offense
1. Let ball travel
2. Bat speed
3. Barrel accuracy

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
