09/29/2021 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Jackson continued to showcase his skills at the Arizona Senior Fall Classic. continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. On the mound, he shows a controlled, repeatable delivery allowing his quick arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 85-87 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. He shows a great feel for pitching and maintains composure on the bump. At the plate, he shows outstanding power with lower half working well through the swing. He shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At the event, he was 2 for 8 with 2B and 2 RBI. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - West) Jackson continues to show as a top prospect at the Opening Bay Classic. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 87 mph. Fastball showed a range of 85-87 mph with arm side run. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Off speed show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is excellent as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and he showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt, saving throws. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed (90 mph exit velocity) through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Jackson is a solid/strong/projectable 2-way prospect who continues to shine every time that he steps onto the diamond. With the bat, this righty steps into the box with a purpose and is looking to do damage. He is aggressive and is looking to jump on 1st pitch FB's. He tracks the ball out of the pitcher's hands and lets it travel into the zone. He fires the barrel with + bat speed and connecting and driving the ball to all parts of the field. At 1B, he shows active prep and good athleticism coming to get the GB. He moves well around the 1B bag and has the ability to pick it. On the mound, this RHP challenges hitters with an effective 3-pitch mix (FB, CB, CH). He maintains fluid tempo, works tall and drives downhill in-line toward the dish. FB ranges from 82-84 mph as he works it to both sides of the dish. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with tight spin and good depth. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed and has good arm side run. He pounds the zone and throws strikes with all of his pitches. Bolender is a talented 2-way prospect who has the tools that will make an immediate impact in a variety of ways at the next level.

10/31/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Cedar City, UT Jackson is a solid, strong 1B/RHP who has a promising future. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying excellent hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 75-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further develop, Jackson has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
