01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jackson is a MIF who can swing it. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball gap-to-gap pop (exit velocity = 87 mph). At SS, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws (91 mph velocity) zipping across the diamond. A projectable MIF - he will play at a high level and make an impact.

12/20/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he has really improved, now displaying tremendous hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the baseball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus as he utilizes his lower half well with baseball exploding off the bat when centered. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / clean actions. Hands are clean and present well out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds/ turn of the double play. Lateral movement is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat with range increasing as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, displaying outstanding arm strength (88 mph velocity) with on line carry across the diamond. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and a very hard worker. He shows a high baseball IQ with great instincts. Jackson has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

10/29/2017 - College PREP - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Jackson is a strong, athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the MIF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. Range will continue to improve as he improves foot quickness. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with throws displaying accuracy and carry across the diamond. With 3 years to further develop, Jackson has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
