07/28/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.09 runner. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with zip across the diamond. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/26/2020 - College PREP - Myrtle Beach, SC Jackson is a thin, athletic SS who will graduate in 2023. Defensively, Jackson has fluid/active feet, soft/presentable hands, and he fields low and squarely. He is light on his feet, he moves well laterally, and he makes plays with an accurate arm across the diamond. Playing more through the ball, more aggressiveness, and added strength will help defense get better. At the plate, Jackson has a square stance, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He makes consistent contact through a level swing plane, and he shows the ability to spray the ball to all fields. More lower body and added bat speed with strength will help spike hitting.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
