Official Scouting Report

  • C/1BPosition Projection

11/10/2019 - College PREP - Davie, FL Jackson is a strong C/1B prospect who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, Jackson sits in a square stance and receives with a quiet glove. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to the 2B bag. Getting rid of the ball quicker can help Jackson improve as a C. At 1B, Jackson covers ground well and fields in a square position. He throws from a 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Jackson can improve as a 1B by fielding the ball out in front of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and tracks the ball well, making solid contact to his pull side. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Jackson improve as a hitter. Overall, Jackson is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
