09/09/2018 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Jackson is a young, thin, OF with nice skills for his current age. In the OF, Jackson has active feet, he takes good angles to the ball, and he covers ground well. He makes plays consistently and throws with carry and accuracy from a long arm action to his target. Defensive numbers can get better if Jackson can play lower, avoid drifting, and quicken his release. Offensively, Jackson has a tall/square set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He makes level/consistent contact, he can spray to all fields, and he uses some lower body. If Jackson can work on his load, add bat speed, and use more lower body, hitting will continue to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
