01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jackson is a strong and athletic 2020 Catching prospect. Behind the dish, Jackson starts in a balanced stance, he presents a low/early glove, and works behind the ball. When blocking, he leads with his glove, he centers the ball with his chest, and creates good angles over the ball. When throwing, he has a clean exchange, he gains ground, and makes strong throws. His lowest pop time was a 1.96 which is .05 seconds lower than the average MLB pop time. At the plate, Jackson starts in a tall and open stance. He loads his hands back into the drive position, he swings with intent, and hits the ball with power to the pull side. Jackson has tremendous upside and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Jackson is a strong C prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Behind the plate, Jackson sits in an athletic primary stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He gets into his secondary stance on time and gains ground when throwing. He makes a clean exchange and throws with a loose arm, keeping his throws accurate with carry through the 2B bag. Jackson moves to block on time and centers the ball in the middle of his body. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an atheltic stance and takes a soft stride. He is controlled getting into a small load and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Jackson is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his junior season.

06/15/2018 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball tools and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.93 as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Receiving / blocking skills are out-standing as he shows off his athletic abilities. He communicates well behind the plate and shows good leadership traits. At the plate, he continues to shine. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (92 mph exit velocity) through the zone as he connects through a line drive path. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player. A talented prospect - he will make things happen both be-hind the dish as well as with the bat.

04/08/2018 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Jackson is an athletic C prospect who will graduate in 2020. Behind the plate, Jackson shows active footwork and good lateral range blocking balls in the dirt. He receives the ball with soft hands and makes a quick, clean exchange to throw. He gains momentum well to 2B and keeps his throws consistent with good carry through the bag. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes his stride on time. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a short swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Jackson is a talented prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills over the next two years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
