10/02/2019 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Jackson continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a top prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a superior at 6.67. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (83 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 3B. With 2 years to further to develop, Jackson has a tremendous upside and will get looks from the top college coaches with his baseball abilities.

08/04/2019 - College PREP - Dublin (Columbus), OH Jackson is a fast, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. He was timed at 6.69 in the 60 at the workout. At SS, Jackson has a low approach, he takes good angles, and he fields athletically. He has a soft/presentable glove, a quick/clean arm circle, and he throws with carry and accuracy across the diamond. In the OF, Jackson has active feet, he gets good reads, and tracks well. He fields the ball cleanly, and has an easy arm with carry to his cut off man. At the plate, Jackson has an athletic set-up, good balance, and fast bat speed. He has a direct swing path, works the ball gap to gap, and he uses his lower body well. If he can let the ball travel deeper at times, solid hitting can get even better.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
