01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Jackson is a 2027 RHP/1B who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At 1B, he presents a big target at first base and showed good bag awareness. He showed a clean transfer as he made accurate throws to second base from a high 3/4 arm slot and arm velocity up to 76mph. On the mound, he has long levers and a projectible frame. He works with good tempo and takes his chest to his glove. Good direction towards plate and takes the proper stride length. He attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 75mph with some movement, and a changeup with good movement that he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 innings of work, he punched out 4 batters and didn't allow a run. At the plate, he sets up in an upright and even stance with comfortable hands. Starts with a controlled glide step and showed ability to deliver the barrel. A compact swing allows him to hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph. Jackson is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/18/2022 - 2022 Baseball Fall Prospects Tournament (MS) Jackson continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Fastball showed a range of 69-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Split finger shows good downward action. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

09/24/2021 - MS All-Region Tournament Jackson is a 2027 1B prospect who showcased his skills during the All Region Tournament. At first base, he showed ability to spin glove side and has an accurate arm. He works to center the baseball and tries to field the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Accurate throws to second base, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 67mph. At the plate, he hits from an upright and even stance. Comfortable/relaxed hands, with a simple load, and ability to keep his barrel flat through the hitting zone. He squared up baseballs to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 69mph. During the games, Jackson showed good awareness of the strike zone only offering at strikes as he reached base numerous times. With 6 more years of growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Jackson continues to show shine on the diamond At 1B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 60-61 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/25/2020 - All-In Membership - San Jose, CA Jackson is an athletic/projectable 2-way player (1B/RHP) who graduates in 2027. With the bat, this RHH stands in square with good balance and a solid base. Hands are quick as he connects and hits the ball where it's pitched spraying it to all parts of the field. At 1B, he has active prep and works into a square fielding position behind the GB. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. Continuing to develop his footwork/agility will help to increase lateral range. On the mound, this RHP has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He pounds the zone and throws strikes with all 3 pitches. FB tops out at 63 mph showing slight tailing action. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with some depth. Changeup has slight movement and will continue to develop as he throws it more. Harris has a solid foundational skill-set with still a ton of time to progress.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
