04/08/2018 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Jackson continues to shine on the diamond. At 3B, he shows smooth / clean actions. He displays proper footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He shows a fluid rhythm and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed (80 mph exit velocity) which leads to solid contact with power showing best to the pull side. Overall, Jackson is a prospect and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

11/05/2017 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Jackson is a long, lean 3B prospect with advanced skills and feel for the game at his age. He can really stroke it at the dish with bat to ball ability and pop to all fields. He is very consistent getting the barrel of the bat to the ball which leads to plenty of hard contact to the gaps and extra base hit power that has more potential. He has a very quick bat through the zone with strong hands and he extends through contact to drive the ball with authority. At the hot corner, he takes efficient angles to the ball with good footwork to cut down on the base hits to his side. He fields low and square to the ball with firm hands to funnel everything to center and make all the plays. Implementing a long toss program will improve arm strength and allow his arm to be a weapon on the left side of the infield. Jackson is a very exciting, young prospect who has lots of potential in the game.

06/17/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Jackson is a talented catching prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball and graduates in 2020. As a right-handed hitter, Jackson has a square setup with a centered balance. He has a good load and short stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Jackson shows fast bat speed with a direct swing path and gets good extension to produce hard contact. He has a good pop in his bat and drive the ball to each gap. Behind the plate, Jackson has an effective setup presenting a low target. He moves smoothly and swiftly covering good ground when needing to block. He has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has good momentum through his release and his throws are consistently accurate. Jackson has a well-rounded skill setup and good upside to takes his game to the next the level.

04/09/2017 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Jackson continues to show improvements and is a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, power potential has improved. He has strength in his swing with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Barrel accuracy is a plus with power showing best to the pull side. At 3B, he displays quick / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he works around and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and he presents well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life, accuracy, and on line carry across the diamond. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Jackson is a hardworking 3B prospect who graduates in 2020. As a right-handed hitter, Jackson has an open stance with his weight forward. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and on-time stride. He has a direct swing path with good hands producing square contact. Jackson has a solid approach with the ability to drive the ball to each gap. At the hot corner, Jackson has a good approach and makes all the routine plays. He does a nice job effectively fielding slow rollers. Jackson has a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. He is working to build his arm strength and quicken his release. Overall, Jackson has a solid skill set and good potential to continue to progress his game with development.

12/27/2016 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Jackson is a young, talented catching prospect who has good upside on both sides of the ball. Behind the plate, Jackson moves well laterally with active footwork. He has a good setup and receives the ball well with a clean exchange leading into a short arm action. Jackson has good momentum through his release throwing from an over the top arm slot producing consistent, online results. Offensively, Jackson has an open stance with a centered balance and firm front side. He has fluid rhythm and takes a square stride with a good load. Jackson has fast bat speed and lands the barrel to the baseball with a direct, on-plane swing path. He produces hard, strong contact showing power to each gap. Overall, Jackson is a coachable prospect who has a bright upside on the diamond.

07/18/2016 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Jackson is a thick, strong C/3B who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, hands / feet work well together through a quick / clean transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times showed in the 2.33 range with accuracy on his throws. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well. At 3B, he displays smooth, fluid actions. He moves well laterally displaying range and displays a solid backhand. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Glove action is soft but will benefit by presenting more out front. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing, creating extension. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered and works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. With 4 years to further develop, Jackson has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
