Official Scouting Report

  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Jackson is an intelligent and talented 2025 2-way prospect that made several adjustments throughout the week at Vero Beach. At the hot corner, He has an active prep step, fields the ball in a low position, and funnels the ball into his chest. He needs to continue to present a low/early glove, play through the backhand, and get his feet in a good position to throw on double plays. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Jackson starts in an open stance, has a smooth load, and has good pitch recognition. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation, and stay balanced through contact. On the bump, Jackson gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and extends thru his delivery. He keeps his fastball down in the zone, and has good 11-5 break on his curveball. He needs to continue to drive the backside toward the plate and work north to south in his delivery. Jackson will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

05/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Redwood City (San Francisco/San Jose), CA Jackson is a young, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Jackson has playable hands and feet, and he makes the routine plays on balls hit his way. He gives max effort, has very good energy, and throws with some accuracy to his target. On the mound, Jackson stands over the rubber well balanced, he has good glove side lead, and gets solid pivot off his back foot. Offensively, Jackson has a square set-up, he loads well, and shows signs of having pop in his bat. He hits line drives and hits hard to the pull side. Jackson can continue to improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
