04/23/2023 - National Showcase - Washington, DC Jackson is a 2025 SS prospect with an athletic frame at 5'9" 175 pounds. In the field, he shows off quick, active feet and puts himself in a great fielding position with his movements. He has agile range to all angles and he does a great job of getting around the baseball on ground balls. He presents soft hands out in front in an athletic, low fielding position. He has an impressive backhand and does a great job of charging slow rollers. His exchange is clean and he has a short arm action when making throws across the diamond. He makes accurate throws with momentum to his targets. At the plate, he starts in an athletic, crouched stance and gets a good load and squared stride to the pitcher. He keeps his balance centered and works through the baseball with his lower half. He shows off quick hands and an on-plane, direct swing to the ball. He has a line drive approach, makes consistent contact, and uses the whole field. Jackson is an exciting prospect that should develop these skills even more over the next 2+ years of high school!

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Jackson is an advanced and athletic 2025 prospect coming out of the Atlantic Coast region. A natural MIF with defensive versatility who played 3b as a freshman on varsity, but can handle SS or 2b as he matures and continues to develop. At the plate it’s a quiet set up with a simple load and trigger to start his swing and he stays through the middle of the field to opposite field with consistent hard contact and showing the ability to drive the ball through the gaps. His power plays to the pull side, but his approach is more geared as hit first, power second profile which will play to his swing path and athleticism. He has quick feet and shows burst in his first few steps is working to maintain it for longer periods of time, but the range and fluidity on defense with soft hands and a strong accurate arm allow him to stay on the left side of the dirt. On the mound he has an athletic delivery with a short quick arm action which allows him to attack the strike zone. He works off an aggressive FB with 78-82 MPH velocity and a developing curveball with good depth he throws right around 68-70 MPH. He is advanced on baseball tools, adding increased athleticism and strength, a high performer in game and extremely good make up on and off the field making him a very intriguing prospect for the 2025 class with his overall package to follow as he continues to improve a very solid profile.

05/23/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Bowie, MD Jackson is an athletic SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Jackson shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes his stride on time. He is fluid to load and hits against a strong front side. He works through a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent line drives and gap to gap power. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Jackson operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph. Breaking ball sits from 62-64mph with 10-4 break. Knuckleball sits from 60-61mph. Overall, Jackson is a talented prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
