01/30/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Dallas, TX Jackson continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, feet are active as he gains ground and works through a clean / transfer exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.30. Throws display accuracy with times continuing to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft as he lets the ball travel and tracks well, sticking in the zone. He utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, power potential is now well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He utilizes his lower half well and has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (HS) Jackson is a class of 2025 C/3B prospect. In the field, he showed good footwork at both positions as well as a decent arm. Had very quick and clean exchanges on his throw downs in game action. Did a good job of blocking for his pitchers throughout the weekend. At the plate, he showed some hand speed. Started from a square and athletic stance and did a very good job getting into a load. Controlled his barrel well and showed a good swing plane with extension. Worked with a gap-to-gap approach. Jackson is a talented young prospect that we hope to see more of in the future.

05/01/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Dallas, TX Jackson is a C who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame, high waist, with some present strength to the build and plenty of time to fill out. Primary C, young developing catcher who presents a low target pitchers like throwing to. Quiet actions allow him to track pitches and beat balls to spot. Ability to work thumb under and keep balls in strike zone. Quick transfer into a 3/4 arm slot with a quick release. Recorded an arm velocity of 71mph and a best pop time of 2.38 seconds. A right-handed hitter with an athletic and square stance. Simple and balanced swing, with a good bat angle, as he rotates to his contact point. Direct bat path as he squared balls up to the pull side during BP. Recorded a bat exit velocity of 71mph. With continued growth and development, we see Jackson having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
