05/28/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Jackson is a tall LHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Jackson gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, finishing with a controlled landing. Jackson shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 92mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 71-74mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 78-80mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Jackson is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his senior season.

10/27/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Jackson continues to show why he is one of the top LHPs in the 2020 class. At the UA Baseball Factory Futures South he attacked hitters with a fastball that lived mostly in the upper 80s with some late tailing life. He has a slight cross-fire delivery that adds to his deception and allows his fastball to play up - hitters don't react well to it. Jackson's primary off-speed offering is a curve that has outstanding depth and acts as an out-pitch. It comes out of the hand like his FB and has very late 3/4 tilt. He mixes in an occasional change as his 3rd pitch and it shows promise. Overall, this is a LHP prospect who throws strikes, competes, pitches inside and has a quality 3-pitch mix...a very promising combination.

06/05/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Jackson is an athletic LHP who is a prospect on the mound. Delivery is sound/repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Fastball shows a range of 85-87 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with late break. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command/control is outstanding as he locates well to both sides of the plate. Jackson has big upside on the mound, getting looks from pro scouts with his abilities on the bump.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
